About
A working manual, not a food blog
Seasoned Cast is a reference site for cast iron cookware — restoring it, seasoning it, cooking on it, and keeping it in service for the rest of your life. Cast iron is one of the few things in a kitchen that gets better with use and survives neglect. Most of what's written about it online is either folklore or filler. This site is the third option: clear instructions that work.
Every guide is written to be followed with your hands full — in a kitchen or over a workbench — not admired in a feed. Where there's real debate (which oil, which method, whether to strip a pan or save the seasoning), we say what we'd actually do and why.
Who writes this
Seasoned Cast is written by Ethan, who cooks on and restores cast iron and documents what actually works. No ghost-written listicles, no content-farm padding.
How the site makes money
Some guides link to products. If you buy through one of those links, Seasoned Cast may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Recommendations are never for sale — a product appears because we'd buy it, not because it pays better.
